Mainstreet Digital — Victoria, BC
I redesign websites for local businesses that deserve better than what they've got. You'll see a real preview before committing to anything.

What I do
Usually it's the same story — the site was thrown together a few years ago, nobody's touched it since, and it shows. Slow, looks off on mobile, doesn't say much.
I come in, figure out what's actually going on with your business and your customers, and build something you're not embarrassed to send people to.
See how it works →01The process
No drawn-out kickoff calls, no weeks of back-and-forth. You see something real within 24 hours and we go from there.
Before touching a single pixel, I look at your current site, poke around at your competitors, and get a feel for what your customers are actually searching for.
Start here →Within 24 hours, you get a working webpage — not a sketch or a PDF. Something you can actually click through and share. No commitment, no invoice.
See examples →Once you like the direction, I build the full thing. You give feedback, I make changes. We keep going until you're genuinely happy with it.
How long does it take? →I handle the domain, the hosting, the technical bits you don't want to deal with. You just tell me when you're ready and I flip the switch.
What's included →02About
I'm Shep, based here in Victoria. I kept running into the same thing — a great restaurant, a trusted contractor, a clinic people love — and then you go look at their website and it's just sad.
So I started Mainstreet Digital. I'm new to running a business, not new to building websites, and I'm keeping my prices low while I build up a portfolio. That's the honest version of the founding client deal.
What I can promise: I won't disappear on you, I won't overcomplicate it, and I'll actually tell you if something isn't working rather than just nodding and billing you.
03Founding clients
I'm keeping my first three projects at a reduced rate. In return, I ask for honest feedback along the way and a testimonial if you're happy with what you get.
I've put the whole process through its paces before taking on real clients — the research, the build, the launch, all of it. So you're not the guinea pig. You're just getting in early at a better price.
You walk away with a proper website. I walk away with work I can actually show people. It's a fair trade, and I'll put as much into it as I would if you were paying full price — because frankly, I want the testimonial.
One spot is already gone. If this sounds good, don't sit on it.

Common questions
What does the free preview actually look like?
A real, working webpage. You can open it in your browser, click around, and share it with whoever you want. It's not a screenshot or a PDF — it looks like an actual website, because it is one.
How fast is "within a week"?
The preview usually lands in your inbox within 24 hours of us talking. The full site is live within 5 to 7 business days of you approving the direction. That's the normal timeline — I haven't missed it yet.
Do I need to write the copy?
No. I write a first draft for everything — the homepage, the about page, the services, all of it. You tell me what sounds wrong and we fix it. Most people are surprised how little they have to do.
What if I just need my current site fixed up?
Send it over. Some sites need a full rebuild, some just need a few things sorted. I'll tell you honestly what I think and what I'd do — before you decide whether to hire me.
Will I show up on Google?
Every site I build is set up with the basics — page titles, descriptions, site speed, mobile. Growth and Premium clients also get the local SEO setup, which is what actually helps you show up when someone nearby is searching.
What happens once it's live?
I don't vanish. Every package includes at least 30 days of support, and I'm around for changes and questions after that too. Most people just keep me on as their web person, which honestly suits me fine.
